Force India considering Karthikeyan for second race seat alongside Di Resta

Narain Karthikeyan has emerged as a surprise contender for second race seat alongside Paul Di Resta for the 2013 F1 Season.

The news was reported by Deccan Chronicle and it is said that the increase in sponsorship backing by Tata has been the main reason why Force India are considering him.

“As soon as Tata increased the budget for 2013, talks with Force India began,” the source said.
“Unlike the past, the negotiation has been a lot more positive. If talks fail, he will probably go to America for (the) Indycar series”.
Jules Bianchi is the other hot favourite to fill up the vacant seat after setting second quickest time in the fourth day of Jerez Test.

Bianchi told Autosport on Friday: “Even if the plan was to stay a third driver for two years, now the plan has changed and I’m ready.”
